Meet Bram & Karen
There’s a big difference between selling swimming pools and understanding how to build them.
Behind Lucaya Pools are Bram and Karen Schad, a husband-and-wife team who bring decades of construction, business, and swimming pool industry experience to every project. Pools aren’t something we recently decided to get into. Over the years, we’ve built them, renovated them, serviced them, repaired them, maintained them, and helped homeowners navigate just about every challenge that can come with owning one. That firsthand experience has given us an understanding of not only how a pool should be built, but how the decisions made during construction can affect its performance for years to come.
Bram brings a strong technical and construction background to Lucaya Pools. A graduate of the University of Florida with a Bachelor of Science in Building Construction Management, he has spent decades in construction, project management, and the swimming pool industry. His experience allows him to look beyond the pool itself and understand how the entire project comes together—from site conditions, elevations, drainage, and excavation to plumbing, equipment, decking, and final completion.
Karen has worked alongside Bram throughout their years in the pool industry and has been an integral part of both their previous pool company and Lucaya Pools. From communicating with homeowners and keeping projects organized to coordinating the countless details that happen behind the scenes, Karen plays an important role in making sure customers are taken care of throughout the entire process.
Together, they bring complementary strengths to Lucaya Pools: construction knowledge in the field, organization and communication behind the scenes, and a shared commitment to taking care of the customer.
Most importantly, Bram and Karen bring something that can’t be learned overnight—real-world experience and an understanding of what it takes to turn an idea for a backyard pool into a finished space a family can enjoy for
